Tepaynga's Surgery

Tepaynga had dental surgery on Tuesday. She had 4 or 5 baby root canals done and had decay in her other 3 or 4 molar teeth and had caps put on them! It was a rough day! She couldn't eat anything before she went and we spent a total time at the dentist of 3 hours! It's hard to sit that long in a waiting room with a bunch of kids that parents aren't controlling.

It was kind of scary seeing her come out of anethesia she was kicking, screaming, and crying all the while scratching at her face. She wouldn't respond to me and even though the anethesiologist kept telling me this was normal it was still scary to see my kid that way! So I had Dallin because he's attatched and Mekayla because she had to come see and support her sister get done the same thing she had done last year.

She was groggy for the first few hours, but then she was up and talking 90 miles an hour and wanted to eat non-stop until bed time (just soft foods). For the last few days, I haven't been able to fill her up. We think that she is going through a growth spurt right now. She has complained in between her pain meds. that her teeth hurt, but today she seems to be okay. She's only had meds. when she first woke up this morning. She ate pizza tonight, her request minus the pepperoni because it might "hurt her silver teeth!" She did fine with it! She seems to be milking this for all it's worth just like whenever she is sick! She's so cute and I'm glad she's fine and brave for going through with it all!

We raised Dallin's swing last week so it sits up all the way and this is what happened when he got tired! We also put up his Christmas swing he got from Grandma and Grandpa! He was bundled so I don't know how much he enjoyed it, but he loves being outside! He also started pushing himself in his walker this week, but only goes backwards and can't figure out how he does it! He's so cute!

Mekayla passed off another reading packet at school! She's so smart! We're really proud of her!

Brett has been working on midterms the last couple weeks and we'll both be glad when their over!

I started babysitting this week for my sister-in -law. She just got her grandkids because her daughter is into a lot of trouble and was leaving them for weeks. So I'm taking care of them from 9-3 every week day and getting paid daycare prices! I figured we'd both help each other out! And they are good kids. They are 1 1/2 and 4 years old.

Good Times are Here Again!

Mekayla is finally feeling better and she is not wearing her mask anymore! We forgot how cute her little nose and mouth were during her sick duration! She is doing good, but the little cough is always the last to go. She only coughs when she is running around though! She gets to go back to school on Wednesday as today is a holiday! She's really eager to go back! We signed her up for soccer and she's excited to play for her first time! She's loved it at P.E. at school and wanted to give it a try so here we go!
Dallin got a little cough, but has been under the vaporizer and is showing signs of improvement! He still hasn't got a tooth yet.
Tepaynga has been making up her own little words so often that we should make a dictionary with just her words! The latest one we love is "Dizzeling". The TV was fuzzy with the "white and black ants" because of a loose connection, but she came in with her hands on her hips and complained about the tv and then with twinkleing hands said that it was dizzeling and needed to be fixed! She's just too cute! Did you know she has keys in her pocket to control her volume. She has to get a quiet key out so she can talk quiet around Dallin and at church! This was her own idea! She's also decided that she doesn't like the names "Panga" and "Panga-Roo" she prefers to be called Tepaynga or Pang or Buddy! What a character!

Things are looking up!

We're finally starting to get a little healthier at our house! We've had a sick bug living in our house since we got home from Utah or so it seems! Mekayla is starting to feel quite a bit better and thinks she can do everything now, but still gets exhausted if she does too much. We're trying to keep her on the down low! She wants to play with her siblings soooo bad! We told her she has to wait for at least a few more days to make sure she's completely well again!

So for FHE this week Brett and Tepaynga did the lesson and Tepaynga dressed up like the Apostle Peter and was just giggling and thrilled to be the visual aide for the lesson. It was about sharing the gospel and taking care of the "sheep" like Jesus asked us to. Brett used my mascara to make her a beard and I had a hard time getting off of her cute little face. I even told her she was going to be a boy now when it was rough and she about cried. Enough teasing huh!

Dallin has found his tongue and will copy you if you stick your tongue out! It's so fun to be interacting with him! He's growing up so fast!

Happenings at our house

So Dallin had his first play date this week at the libary reading group Books and Babies. We went because Tepaynga wanted to go to a reading groop with kids her age, but that ended up being on a different day, so we decided to go to this one instead. Dallin had a great time and was "talking" to all of the babies his age! It was cute! Tepaynga was the biggest one there and didn't think anything of it and ate just as many or more snacks as the rest of them!
Wednesday, Mekayla fell asleep on the bus and it took the bus driver and all the kids to wake her up! Thursday, she woke up saying she had a sore throat, but still wanted to go to dance. We got home and she was feeling really tired. We put her to bed and about 11:30 she woke up screaming. I went to get her and she was burning up I took her temperature and it was over 103 degrees. I gave her some Motrin and a bunch of water and had her sleep on the couch so we could keep an eye on her. Friday, woke up with a high fever again and a wheezing cough, we couldn't keep her from falling asleep wherever she was. I took her to the walk-in clinic because if she was getting this bad this fast, something was going on and I wasn't waiting until Monday. They did some tests and she had the influenza B virus and it is very contageous and she has to be out of school for a week or more. She's basically quarentied. She had to wear a mask and keep her distance from everyone, which is very hard for me because I want to hold her and Dallin, but I don't want to get Dallin sick because it could be really bad for him because of his age. Tepaynga is having a hard time with it because she wants her sister to play with her, but she can't. Mekayla had a melt down when we told her she can't play with her brother for at least a week. It broke all of our hearts. Because it is a virus, there wasn't very much they could do for her besides give her meds for her cough. I'm keeping Motrin and Tylenol down her to keep the fever down and lots of liquids. Any other recommendations?

Dallin was helping fold laundry on the new laundry bench that Brett built me in the laundry room so that I quit leaving it out in the family room. It's really nice and has worked great so far!
